I’ve just returned from a Christian writers Conference in Philadelphia, PA.

Since I retired in January, I’ve been trying my hand at writing. My good friend Jay Nutt was the instigator. I’ve written a short fictional account of the daily struggles of the families I work with in Juarez. I hope that you will be able to see and feel what life is like  in a poor desert neighborhood only a few yards from the United States. Watch for my first book, coming soon, Grit in Juarez.

Meanwhile, if you would like to make a donation to this mission, you may use PayPal msurles06@yahoo.com. Or, you may order books in Spanish from Amazon using my wish list at http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/10L6A5Y4GWEUY. Books in Spanish have also been found at Target, Dirt Cheap, Used Books, Lifeway Christian Bookstores, and yard sales!

My next trip is planned for September 20, primero Dios. Your prayers are always appreciated.
